Troop 85 Andover-Newton Congratulates Newest Eagle Scout, Anthony Quaglio
ANDOVER, NJ — Troop 85 is proud to congratulate Anthony Quaglio on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouts BSA and a milestone that reflects years of leadership, service, and dedication.
During his time with Troop 85, Anthony has demonstrated exceptional commitment to Scouting’s ideals and outdoor skills. He has earned 32 merit badges and achieved the National Outdoor Award for Camping, highlighting his sustained participation and excellence in the outdoors. Anthony has accumulated more than 70 nights of camping, including attendance at summer camp at Citta Scout Reservation.
Anthony has also embraced adventure and challenge through multiple high-adventure experiences. His trips have included whitewater rafting on the Hudson and Black Rivers in New York, as well as high-adventure hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where he summited Mount Washington, Mount Moosilauke, and the Hancocks.
A respected youth leader within Troop 85, Anthony currently serves as the troop’s Senior Patrol Leader. Over the years, he has held a range of key leadership roles, including Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, Scribe, Patrol Leader, and Den Chief, helping guide younger Scouts and supporting the troop’s program and operations.
For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Anthony made a lasting contribution to the community by constructing recreational park benches along the Western Shore Trail of Lake Aeroflex at Kittatinny Valley State Park, along with completing trail maintenance to improve the area for hikers and visitors.
Troop 85 congratulates Anthony Quaglio on this outstanding achievement and thanks all those who supported his journey to Eagle Scout.

Troop 85 serves youth in the Andover-Newton-Green area through a year-round, outdoor-based Scouting program that builds character, confidence, and leadership. Scouts develop skills through monthly adventures and training related to hiking, camping, first aid, and conservation. As a youth-led troop, Scouts plan activities and lead one another with guidance from trained adult volunteers, while also serving the community through projects that support local parks, schools, and our towns.
